Do You Think Having A Black President Will Change America ? And How?

Ok! People it's looking good for Obama, America will soon have it's first African-American President on Paper! So, I was just wondering when he does become President how do you think it will affect America as a whole or Do you think it will? Do you think race is an issue in this campaign?

I think him becoming President will have more of an impact on us as a people, but it will definitely affect the entire country. From a racial stand point, it evens the field so to speak. This milestone will be like a 'cap stone' on all of our other ambiguous "firsts."

On the flip side, we will have no more excuses. No more... "the system is holdin us down" bullshit. It's time for us to use that system to our benefit and stop letting it use and abuse us, ya dig.

Race is an issue and you will see that more as election day draws near. Remember they tried to spread the rumors that Obama was an undercover muslim and down with the terrorists? Well, they are still trying to label as a terrorist. They've just switched the players. And, did you hear John McCain's "that one" statement during last nights debate?

McCain is still trying to use old school politics to win with those fake ass hand shakes and sucking up to the audience. Does he really think we don't see through that nonsense? The only thing he was clear on was Iraq. His economic policy was trash along with his plans for health care.

Obama was right that all the insurance companies would move to states with lax laws and regulations. The $5000 McCain proposes for everybody will never see your hands. One other sneaky little thing... average cost for insurance premiums is around $3,300. Where is the other $1,700 going? Not in your wallet!

I know I went off on a tangent... the debate is still fresh on my mind.

Osok, I believe you got a point! Im starting to hear on radio stations (Mainly Urban Stations) Obama could possibly lose the election if people don't Go out to Vote! I understand what their doing but I don't think they should put that type of message out there with the beginning part of the sentence saying "Obama could possibly lose" I think thats the wrong tone to be using right now. The Energy so far has been an Uphill Roller Coaster and Very positive. It needs to remain that way until the day of election. P Diddy even put a video blog out saying the same thing.

Race will always be an issue. It is just something that we have to deal with. There will always be someone out in he world that will not accept a person for the color of their skin. This will take us one step closer to equality.

It is a beautiful thing to watch Obama run for the president of the United States. It will most certainly change America, for the better. This is a monumental event. For all of you who are not Obama supporters that is ok, but do you really want to vote MCcain/Palin? Please just look at the facts and what each party stands for.
-Healthcare....Obama-provide health care for every American. (Other countries give free health care) His plan will allow adults who are not on a company backed health insurance plan to be covered. It will allow people with pre-existing conditions to get coverage as well.
......................McCain-NO MORE COMPANY BACKED HEALTH PLANS. You will have to buy your own health care each year and hope that you do not go over the 5k that is being offered as a tax rebate. Well, if you have an illness, your healthcare can surpass 5k. Then what? You can forget about having a baby. The average cost of doctor's visits and the hospital stay...around 20k and up.

Palin doesn't make MCcain's case any better. Telling Americans that she has foreign affairs experience because international travel flies over the state of Alaska is just nonsense. This is the mess that we would end up with. Whether you believe in abortion or not, I do not think that the government has the right to tell a woman that she can not have one. Palin is pro-life. Now if I am raped, I should be able to have an abortion. Why should she tell me that I don't have that right? There would be a flood of woman trying to rid themselves of babies that are unwanted if they get into office.
Please wake up people. Stop thinking that he will not win. The only way he will not win is if you do not vote. They can not hide millions of votes. When there is a landslide there is never any questions, so let's get to the polls on election day, November 4.

Hmmm...Obama being elected will definitely have an affect on America, but in hindsight we won't know how until election day when he is elected :-).

What I think we will see in this election is the heightened visibility of flagrant disrepect. You'll see political figures attempt to portray an educated, qualified presidental candidate of African-American decent negatively. We'll see mudslinging to the tenth degree and we as African-Americans will automatically take it personal 'of course' because we know Obama is the right candidate for office. Prime example of utter disrespect was demonstrated last night during the debate when McCcain (with this white-man entitlement mentality) referred to Obama as 'That One'. Was it a racist comment...hmm...it's questionable, but it was extrememly inappropriate and disrespectful. The first thing that came to my mind was "what did he really want to call him"! Sticks n stones may break my bones, but...you know the rest. (corny I know, but hey)

Just stay positive, register to vote, vote on election day and keep our eyes on the prize! The next 26 days are gonna be rough! We gotta stand behind Obama and continue to support his plans to rebuild our economy, end the war in Iraq reponsibly and reduce the cost of healthcare.

Yes Fe,

You do have a point, But its 2008 and that keep the eyes on the prize 1970 days are gone with the wind. It is a new day and time. Black people have kept their eyes on the prize to damn long, while other races get the prize its time to take our eyes off the prize and put our hands on it and take it. If you don't believe me go watch the beginning of the movie "Departed" again. The realest thing ever said by Actor "Jack Nicholson" in the movie is that (Niggaz keep waiting around like somebody owe them something and thats why they ain't got shht, they need to learn how to take it like the Fighting Irish do. Change is taking place now as I write this and as you read this. The Energy is already set in motion the wheel is turning. This is a classic case of the $39 million dollars that was used to build a daylight/ twilight school for disruptive students who go to school part-time (4 Hrs) and still receive a diploma equal to a Student who goes to a run down no Air Conditioning, Old Books, School. (T.C.H.S.) full-time (8 Hrs). How is that possible? With so many petitions signed to not have the school built so that the part-time kids can step their game up to full-time status. So what happens is the full-time students see how late the part-time students get to sleep and will envy that and eventually want the same rights because its not fair for them to put in the most time and the part-time students put in the less time and receive the same diploma in a shorter amount of time. (It's called Politics) and they (Politicians) know what is to come regardless of a vote. The voting part is so people can feel they have a part in the government. Americans love sports, they love playing the my team thing. So they use it as a form to see who can generate the one principle America was built on (Money) and Popular Votes Generate More Money! It's 2008 Race still matters but when it comes to money being made that race shit is out the window. It's America! It's about $Dollars... We need the gas to go up, we need the market to crash, we needed war its part of the recycling process to rebuild America. It's nothing new America goes through this every few yrs from the great depression on down to Ronald Regan. America's President has always been one who is about generating more money! Look what happen when Kennedy didn't approve of the Vietnam War. He got taken out. So going back to the full-time students, although the parents have fought hard and got petitions signed to not have this $39million school built it was built anyway, and they new they were gonna do it regardless because its about generating money for the City. They will use the students to fight the parents, by getting the full-timers to go against the part-timers privileges. Eventually the Full-timers will win and receive the same rights as the part-timers. And be moved into the New $39million dollar school. And the old High School will be demolished and used to rebuild the area up by adding a shopping plaza or a home depot something to that degree. Thats how politics work in America, its a Government for a reason. We NEED MONEY JUST LIKE ALL AMERICANS Do! Americans only own 4% of the Wealth in America. So who do you think suffers the people. Now will Obama become president I would love for him to regardless of his skin tone thats only half of my reason. But I tell you this! Ending war, lowering gas prices, creating tax budgets, and affordable health care, doesn't generate income for The District Of Columbia... Thats our nations capitol for those who forgot, it HAS to survive. It needs to be funded for the Americas capitols to be funded thats part of the reason why we have states and those states are given capitols to regulate funds easier to the smaller territories called cities, suburbs, townships and so forth.
Remember money don't grow on trees.

I hear ya B, but... if you're not helping the cause, you're hurting it. Of course there are negative sides of all campaigning, and outstanding issues that will not be addressed, but we have to pick our battles. If we keep dwelling on the past...things will never change. :-)

STAY POSITIVE, focus on change, register to vote and vote for Obama on Novemeber 4th!
